Orally, GABA seems to be generally well tolerated. Sublingually, no adverse effects have been reported. However, a thorough evaluation of safety outcomes has not been conducted.

Common orally taken adverse effects;

• Drowziness
• Gastric upset
• Minor throat burning
• Nausea
• Muscle Weakness
